2013 was indeed a year. 2014 is also going to be a year. Hopefully eighty thousand times better than 2013. The highlight for me was getting a kick-ass job at Automattic in October. My teacher, David Bieloh, asked me to put together some advice and it I ended up writing this behemoth. Below is a bit of useful information I’ve picked up along the way. You’ve probably heard some or much of it before.

I have my own SCSS file to handle vendor prefixes. It’s painful to keep updated and requires some serious hunting to get all the nitty-gritty details for each property. I have to dig through caniuse, css3please, MDN, webplatform.org, and a few others. Yes, I could use Autoprefixer, -prefix-free, Compass, or any number of other solutions. I would rather not because I like knowing all the nitty-gritty little things going on with my code and which browsers I’m supporting.
If you follow me on twitter, you’ve seen me post a myriad of links to various CodePen Pens. It might even paint the picture that I’m a bit obsessed with CodePen. To date I have created 35 public and 31 private pens and counting.
I’ve gone through several various blogs in the last few years. Some were more successful than others and I tried about every blogging platform I could get my hands on, but all had a fatal flaw. This blog is here to stay. The articles will vary from excellent to cat gif. As always, I welcome any feedback or suggestions.
